The fourth impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte was transmitted to the office of House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III on Thursday, less than 24 hours since it was received by the Office of the Secretary General.

“The fourth impeachment complaint filed against Vice President Sara Duterte was formally received by the Office of the Secretary General at 6:34 p.m. on Wednesday and has been transmitted to the Office of Speaker Faustino ‘Bojie’ G. Dy III today, Thursday, in accordance with established House rules,” Garafil’s office stated.

The fourth impeachment complaint was endorsed by House Committee on Human Rights Chairperson Bienvenido Abante Jr. and La Union 1st District Rep. Paolo Ortega V.

The complainants alleged Duterte had betrayed public trust, committed graft and corruption, and other high crimes. They cited the alleged misuse of ₱612.5 million in confidential funds, which she purportedly used for bribes, and her alleged threat against the lives of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and the first lady.

According to the House rules, Dy has 10 session days to include the impeachment complaint in the order of business.

On Wednesday, House Senior Deputy Majority Leader Lorenz Defensor said the three prior impeachment complaints against the vice president will be referred to the House Committee on Justice, who will determine their sufficiency in form and substance.
