A total of 470 wanted persons were arrested under the new Police Regional Office (PRO) - 8 director in Eastern Visayas—all within the first month of his leadership, according to a Wednesday report.

Under newly-installed Police Regional Director PBGen. Romano Cardiño, the 470 arrests were carried out from September 8, 2026 to October.

This count is higher by 12.71 percent than the 417 arrests made in the previous month, reported RH 32 Jimmy Angay-Angay of DYVL Aksyon Radyo Tacloban.

According to Cardiño, the Eastern Visayas police will continue intensifying their anti-criminality operations, intelligence gathering, and police visibility to capture violators and maintain peace and order in the region.

Moreover, Cardiño emphasized the importance of discipline and humaneness in law enforcement, particularly the need to uphold basic human rights in every police operation.

Cardiño assured that police will continue to maintain order and security in Eastern Visayas.
