Four Filipinos injured in an attack at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, are recovering in hospitals, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said Sunday.

In an official statement, the DMW said three of the injured Filipinos remain in intensive care units (ICUs), while the fourth is expected to be discharged from the hospital.

The department assured that the injured Filipinos continue to receive the necessary assistance and support.

“The MWO and OWWA teams in Riyadh continue to monitor their condition and that of other injured individuals to provide additional assistance and support,” the DMW said in its statement.

Labor Attaché Dominador Salangga of MWO-Riyadh is also coordinating with local authorities and hospitals to determine whether other Filipinos were affected by the incident and ensure they receive appropriate assistance.

No Filipino fatalities have been reported in connection with the attack, according to the DMW.

The department said its monitoring and assistance efforts are being carried out in line with the directives of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Meanwhile, the DMW advised overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Saudi Arabia to avoid areas that could be potential targets of attacks, including military installations and refineries, and to stay away from crowded areas when at airports.

OFWs were also urged to follow announcements from the Philippine Embassy, consulates, MWO offices, and relevant Saudi government agencies.

Those scheduled to travel home were advised to contact their airlines or check their booking emails for updates before proceeding to the airport.

The department also reminded Filipinos in Saudi Arabia not to take photos or videos of attacks or post such material on social media, noting that these activities are prohibited and may carry penalties under Saudi law.
