Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso announced Monday that the third tranche of the salary increase for permanent employees of the Manila city government will be implemented on September 1, 2026.
Moreno made the announcement during the city government’s flag ceremony, saying the salary increase will be implemented on schedule despite the fiscal challenges faced by the city, according to a report by RH Tina Nolasco.
“Gusto kong i-inform ang lahat ng ating empleyado na we are going to implement on time the third tranche effective September 1,” Moreno said.
The salary adjustment will provide at least a 4% increase in the basic pay of 9,364 permanent employees of Manila City Hall, with the city government allocating approximately ₱99.08 million for its implementation.
“This will give you at least 4% increase of your salary. Paldo ang mga taga-City Hall,” he added.
Moreno said he had discussed the implementation with department and bureau heads during a meeting last week.
He also attributed the city government’s ability to fund the salary increase to prudent and efficient spending.
“Sa masinop, mainam, at efficient na pagkakagasta, unti-unti nating natatawid ang pangangailangan ng siyudad. Natatawid natin yung mga programa ng siyudad,” Moreno said.
He added that the city government is also gradually carrying out long-term public works projects that are expected to benefit both current and future residents of Manila.
The third tranche is part of the government’s continuing salary adjustment for public sector employees.
