

A 44-year-old man was arrested on Sunday morning after three people were injured in a stabbing at the Brgy. Sinalhan, Santa Rosa City, Laguna.
According to the report of RH Jecelle Ricafort, in initial investigation, Laguna Police Provincial Office (LPPO) revealed that the suspect was passing by the area on his e-bicycle when a group of young men allegedly attempted to provoke or harass him.
A confrontation followed, during which the suspect was reportedly assaulted. In retaliation, he pulled out a knife and stabbed three individuals.
One of the victims, a 17-year-old male, victim one, was allegedly the first to provoke the suspect. The teenager’s father, victim two, reportedly intervened, resulting in a physical scuffle that led to both father and son being stabbed.
While the third victim, who tried to calm the situation, suffered a stab wound to his arm.
"Upon arrival, police responders were able to apprehend the suspect who was caught while armed with a fan knife (balisong) he used to stab the victims," LPPO reported.
All three stabbing victims were rushed to Santa Rosa Community Hospital by concerned residents and are currently receiving medical treatment.
The suspect is now in police custody as officers continue to conduct further investigation and prepare appropriate charges.
