A total of 29 firearms were registered under the name of Atty. Manases “Mans” Carpio, the husband of Vice President Sara Duterte, according to Police Maj. Jericson Sangalang of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Firearms and Explosives Office (FEO) during the 30th day of the impeachment trial on Monday, September 28.
House prosecutor Rep. Ysabel Zamora asked Sangalang about the firearms registered under Carpio’s name.
“Si Atty. Mans Carpio naman po ay merong 29 firearms. Meron po siyang 16 pistol, dalawang revolver, isang shotgun, sampung rifle, isa po doon ay Class A light weapon, at meron din po siyang isang expired na firearm,” Sangalang said.
The firearms consisted of 16 pistols, two revolvers, one shotgun, and 10 rifles. One of the rifles was classified as a Class A light weapon, while one firearm had an expired registration.
The testimony followed Sangalang’s earlier disclosure that 22 firearms were registered under Vice President Duterte’s name, including 14 pistols, two revolvers, five rifles, and one shotgun. Three of her rifles were classified as Class A light weapons.
The firearms records were presented as part of the prosecution’s evidence under Article II of the Articles of Impeachment, which concerns allegations of “Unexplained Wealth, False SALNs, and Continued Business Interests.”
Sangalang later testified that the firearms registered under the names of Duterte and Carpio had a combined value of ₱7,220,370, according to FEO records.
