

Twenty-nine Filipino nationals affected by a bus accident near Buchloe, Bavaria, Germany, have returned to Milan, the Philippine Consulate General in Frankfurt said Wednesday.
Two other Filipinos remain hospitalized in Bavaria as the Philippine government continues to assist them, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs.
The latest Filipino patient to be discharged was cleared to travel and has also returned to Milan.
Personnel from the Migrant Workers Office and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration are on the ground to attend to the needs of the two Filipinos still confined in hospitals.
The Philippine Consulate General in Frankfurt is also working to secure appropriate legal assistance and representation in Germany for the affected Filipinos and continues to coordinate with German authorities as the investigation into the accident proceeds.
Consul General Marie Yvette Banzon Abalos, accompanied by Philippine Honorary Consul Dr. Stefan Detig, thanked German authorities, first responders and medical teams involved in assisting the Filipinos following the accident.
Among those recognized were local police and fire departments, the Red Cross, Malteser, University of Regensburg Hospital and the Medevac team.
