A total of 280 sacks of garbage were collected during a cleanup operation at Baseco Beach in Manila, local authorities said.
According to a report of RH Tina Nolasco, Personnel from the Department of Public Services (DPS) Baseco Beach Warriors District 5 hauled the waste from the coastal area.
Most of the collected garbage consisted of plastic materials and pieces of wood that had been washed ashore. Various other types of waste were also gathered during the cleanup.
The operation was conducted to remove accumulated garbage along the shoreline and help maintain cleanliness and safety in the area.
This was in addition to the 85 sacks of garbage collected from Manila Bay on August 12, as well as waste gathered from other areas in Manila.
Authorities continue to urge residents to practice proper waste disposal and help keep waterways and coastal areas clean.
