A total of 21 children were reported missing but were later found inside the Manila North Cemetery during the observance of All Saints’ Day on Sunday, November 1, 2026.
According to a report of RH Tina Nolasco, Manila North Cemetery Director Daniel Tan said the children ranged in age from two to 13 years old.
Tan credited the cemetery’s wristband tagging system for helping authorities quickly reunite the children with their parents or guardians. The wristbands contained contact numbers of their respective guardians, allowing concerned individuals to reach their families immediately.
“Lahat naman po nakuha naman po dahil sa paging system natin. ‘Yung paging system po natin nakapaligid sa loob ng sementeryo hanggang sa labas,” Tan told reporters.
He added that around 50 speakers were strategically installed throughout the cemetery to ensure that announcements could be heard by visitors.
Meanwhile, the cemetery management also recorded one major accident during the observance.
According to Tan, an individual slipped inside the cemetery and was immediately rushed to a hospital for medical attention.
Despite the incidents, Tan said the overall observance of All Saints’ Day at Manila North Cemetery remained orderly and peaceful.
