Two hundred more overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) returned to their home country safely from Kuwait on Tuesday, April 28, announced the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).
They were aboard Gulf Air Flight GF154, which touched down at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3, and were welcomed by representatives from the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), OWWA, and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) upon their arrival.
The government agencies provided the OFWs with food, immediate financial support, and temporary lodging.
Moreover, the agencies are preparing for the OFWs’ travels back to their respective provinces, including domestic flights and land transportation assistance, to ensure that the workers come home safely to their families.
“Ang tuloy-tuloy na paghahatid ng serbisyo sa ating mga OFW ay bahagi ng whole-of-government response alinsunod sa direktiba ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na tiyakin ang mabilis, maayos, at makataong pag-abot ng tulong sa mga Pilipino saan man sila naroroon,” the agency said in a statement.
