Twenty more distressed Filipinos have been repatriated from Cambodia, including individuals recruited for illegal employment, the Philippine Embassy in Phnom Penh said.
The repatriation was facilitated on Oct. 21 by the embassy in coordination with the Migrant Workers Office-Cambodia (MWO-Cambodia).
The group included Filipinos who were recruited for illegal work in Cambodia and others who needed consular assistance, the embassy said.
Following the repatriation, the embassy urged Filipinos to exercise caution when considering overseas job offers, particularly those coming from unauthorized recruiters.
It also encouraged job seekers to verify the legitimacy of employment opportunities and comply with Cambodia’s labor and immigration laws.
