

At least 20 people have died while thousands of families remain displaced due to the effects of Typhoon Inday and the enhanced southwest monsoon or habagat, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) as of 8 a.m. Monday, July 13.
The reported fatalities were recorded in Sarangani with 10 deaths, Lanao del Sur with six, Bukidnon with two, and Iloilo and Davao Occidental with one each.
Nine people were also reported injured, including cases in Benguet, Marinduque, Davao Occidental, Sarangani, Lanao del Sur, and Maguindanao del Norte.
Another 16 individuals remain missing, including eight from Davao Occidental, five from Lanao del Sur, two from Sarangani, and one from Maguindanao del Sur.
The southwest monsoon and Typhoon Inday have affected around 146,000 families, or approximately 654,000 individuals nationwide.
A total of 162 evacuation centers are currently housing 5,100 families or more than 20,000 people displaced by the weather disturbance.
The estimated damage to infrastructure has reached ₱3.18 million, including 890 damaged houses. Of the total, 277 houses were completely destroyed while 613 sustained partial damage.
The government has provided ₱43.38 million worth of assistance to affected families as authorities continue monitoring areas vulnerable to flooding, landslides, and other storm-related hazards.
