Two suspected gunmen in the killing of a pro-Marcos vlogger in Caloocan City have been arrested in Mabalacat City, Pampanga, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said Thursday.

PNP acting spokesperson Allen Rae Co said the two “riding-in-tandem” suspects were apprehended Thursday morning, July 23.

Authorities recovered two hand grenades, a handgun and a .45-caliber pistol believed to have been used in the killing of vlogger Alicia Lipata, also known online as “Mima Alicia,” as reported by RH Edniel Parrosa.

Police said Lipata, 24, was shot dead in front of her home in Barangay 171 on July 17. Her partner was wounded in the attack.

“What we are sure is these are the two exact individuals who did the actual deed — the ones who carried out the killing,” Co said.

“But there are others, we do not know the exact number right now, who were involved in the planning and in carrying out this killing.”

Authorities said investigators are still determining the possible involvement of additional suspects, with manhunt operations ongoing.

The PNP has identified two primary motives being pursued by the special investigation task group: Lipata’s role as a political commentator and a possible personal dispute with a former partner. Co said both angles remain under investigation.

The arrested suspects are expected to face charges of murder, as well as violations of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and Republic Act 9516, which penalizes illegal possession of explosives.
