Two men on a motorcycle were killed after being hit by a bus along a curved road in Umingan, Pangasinan.
The incident occurred at a bend along National Road in Barangay Del Rosario at 8 p.m., reported RH 38 Freddie Fajardo of Aksyon Radyo Pangasinan.
According to Umingan Chief of Police PMaj. Jimmy Paningbatan, the two victims, 43 and 55, suffered multiple grave injuries in various parts of their bodies.
They were rushed to a hospital for medical treatment but were both declared dead on arrival by their attending physician.
Authorities found that the passenger bus was headed to Cagayan from Manila, while the men were headed home to Barangay Flores.
Paningbatan said the motorcycle was reportedly traveling with its headlamp unlit, and in a dark area pinpointed as an accident-prone area.
None of the bus passengers were harmed, and the bus driver tested negative for alcohol use.
The victims’ families will not be filing charges against the driver, as the bus company promised to shoulder the funeral and burial costs for the victims, as well as to supply financial aid.
