Two farmers unfortunately died while one sustained an injury after being hit by lightning in Barangay Nadunggan Gattaran, Cagayan, on Thursday, April 25.

According to RH Grace Sansano's report on Friday, the three farmers were about to go home when heavy rain downpoured with thunder and sharp lightning.
Municipal Disaster and Risk Management Officer Bryan Jay Seguro said the three took shelter in a tree when lightning suddenly struck two of them, which resulted in immediate death while one of them splashed out.
The two victims were identified as Danter Seguro, 77, and Rey Fabia, 65, both residents of the said barangay.
Meanwhile, the farmer who sustained the injury is still in the hospital and is currently recovering.
According to PAGASA, some areas in the province experienced moderate to occasionally heavy rain showers yesterday with lightning and strong winds caused by thunderstorms.
