Two residents were injured while at least 82 families were displaced after a fire broke out along Sevilla Street in Barangay 121, Tondo, Manila on Wednesday evening, April 15, according to a report on DZRH's "Magandang Umaga Pilipinas," by RH Boy Gonzales.

According to Manila Social Welfare and Development Director Jay Reyes Dela Fuente, initial reports from District Welfare Office 1 indicated that the fire started at around 7:40 p.m. and was declared fire out by 9:49 p.m.,

The blaze reached third alarm and was declared under control at 9:26 p.m.

A total of around 225 individuals were affected by the incident. Authorities reported that approximately 60 houses were completely destroyed, while 22 others sustained partial damage.

Among the injured were a senior citizen who suffered minor burns and a man who was taken to the hospital after sustaining first-degree burns.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) is still conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.

Meanwhile, the Manila Social Welfare Department’s Response and Management Unit, together with District Welfare Office 1, has begun validation and assessment operations to facilitate the distribution of assistance to affected residents.
