Two “fixers,” who allegedly offer to expedite documents for a fee, were seized in an entrapment operation carried out by the Land Transportation Offic (LTO) in Calamba, Laguna, the agency announced on Monday.
In the entrapment operation, the suspects offered to facilitate the registration of vehicles in exchange for payment. On the day of the transaction, the operatives handed over the marked money, and the two were apprehended upon accepting the cash.
Based on a report, the LTO had been receiving complaints regarding prevalent “fixing” activities in the area, prompting LTO CALABARZON to request assistance from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Laguna.
The LTO reminded the public to avoid deceptive fixer services, which would only become a source of concern.
