Two people were killed while four others were injured after a shooting incident at a residential building in Parañaque City on Wednesday night, March 4, according to the Parañaque City Police.

Parañaque City Police chief Nicolas Piñon said the victims were reportedly playing basketball inside the compound of a residential building in Barangay Marcelo Green when a 59-year-old man suddenly opened fire.

"Base sa CCTV footage na nakita natin, pagbaba ng suspek doon sa kanyang unit pumunta siya sa basketball court ng nasabing building at doon siya ay namaril," Piñon told the reporters.

Authorities said they received a report of the incident at around 7:59 p.m.

“7:59 p.m., may tumawag po sa atin na may isang shooting incident sa isang residential building sa Barangay Marcelo Green at doon po tumugon ang ating mga kapulisan,” Piñon told reporters.

Initial investigation showed that the suspect is also a resident of the same building.

Meanwhile, the four others who were wounded are now in stable condition, authorities said.

Police are still determining the motive behind the shooting.

Authorities added that they already have information that could lead to the identification and arrest of the suspect.

Crime scene investigators recovered several pieces of evidence from the area, including 9mm shell casings and two deformed bullets.

Police said records also show that the suspect owns two registered firearms.

They added that the gunman fled the scene after the incident and remains at large.

“Sa ngayon at large ang suspek kasi pagkatapos ng insidente ay lumabas siya sa compound,” Piñon said.

Police are continuing their manhunt for the suspect while the investigation remains ongoing.
