Authorities are investigating the deaths of two individuals whose bodies were found inside a parked vehicle along the TPLEX Southbound in Barangay San Francisco in Victoria, Tarlac on Wednesday, the police provincial office said.
In an official statement, the Tarlac Police Provincial Office (TPPO) said the incident remains under thorough investigation with the assistance of the Tarlac Forensic Unit.
According to police, the bodies were discovered inside a vehicle parked behind an establishment at a gas station area along the expressway. Residents in the area said the vehicle was noticed in the afternoon of Wednesday before authorities arrived several hours later to secure the scene.
By Wednesday evening, police had already removed the vehicle as part of ongoing evidence collection and processing.
Authorities said a forensic examination is currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the deaths, as well as to identify possible individuals involved in the incident.
The TPPO urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified information and speculation while investigations are ongoing.
“Ang Tarlac Police Provincial Office (TPPO) ay nagpapaalala sa publiko na maging responsable at maingat sa pagbabahagi ng impormasyon kaugnay ng insidenteng kinakasangkutan ng dalawang indibidwal,” the police statement, signed by Col. Harry Ruiz Lorenzo III, officer-in-charge of the TPPO, said.
Police said further details will be released once results of the forensic examination and other investigative procedures are completed.
“Tinitiyak ng Tarlac PPO na magbibigay kami ng update batay sa resulta ng imbestigasyon at sa mga ebidensyang nakalap ng mga awtoridad,” the TPPO added.
