Two areas recorded a “danger” level heat index of 42°C in Cotabato City, Maguindanao and Butuan City, Agusan del Norte on Wednesday, April 8.

Meanwhile, a heat index of 41°C was recorded in Tarlac Agricultural University in Camiling, Tarlac; Sangley Point in Cavite City; Dumangas, Iloilo; Guiuan, Eastern Samar; and Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte, which fall under the “extreme caution” category.

According to PAGASA, a ridge of High Pressure Area (HPA) continues to affect Northern and Central Luzon.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

As of 2:00 a.m., PAGASA said a Low Pressure Area is being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility and has a high chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.
