

Seventeen individuals, including six children, were injured when a public utility jeepney plunged into a 30-meter ravine in Barangay Dangoy, Lubuagan, on Tuesday, March 31.
Authorities reported that the jeepney driven by Arcadio Accoy, lost its brakes while traversing a steep section of the road around 4:00 p.m.
Initial reports from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) and Lubuagan Municipal Police Station (MPS) indicate that the vehicle rolled backward before falling into the ravine.
All 17 passengers sustained injuries ranging from minor wounds, multiple lacerations, body pain, and abrasions to some cases of head fractures. The youngest victim was a four-year-old child, while the oldest passenger was 85 years old.
The victims were immediately rushed to Kalinga District Hospital for treatment.
Currently, five patients remain under observation at Kalinga District Hospital, ten were referred to Kalinga Provincial Hospital for further treatment, and one was transferred to Cagayan Valley Medical Center for specialized care. Two individuals have since been discharged.
