The Philippine National Police (PNP) has confirmed the arrest of 17 out of 18 co-accused linked to the case of the missing sabungeros, in which gaming tycoon Charlie “Atong” Ang is also implicated, RH Edniel Parrosa reported.
According to the PNP, the arrests were carried out following the issuance of warrants of arrest by the court for charges related to the high-profile disappearance case that has drawn national attention.
CIDG Director Police Major General Robert Alexander A. Morico II said only Atong Ang remains at large, noting that one of the 17 arrested suspects—a dismissed police master sergeant—peacefully surrendered to the PNP earlier today.
Morico added that nine of the arrested co-accused are police officers currently under restrictive detention, while the rest are already in police custody and undergoing legal proceedings.
The PNP said efforts are ongoing to locate and arrest the remaining suspect, as manhunt operations continue across various locations. Police officials reiterated their commitment to ensure accountability and vowed to pursue all individuals involved in the case until justice is served.
