The 15-year-old student who was shot by her 18-year-old ex-boyfriend inside a school in Santa Rosa, Nueva Ecija, has died, RH Grace Sansano reported.
Sansano reported that the victim, identified by the alias “Lea,” passed away on Tuesday night after fighting for her life for five days. The report was confirmed by her family and local police.
It will be recalled that on August 7, the victim was shot in the head by her 18-year-old alleged former boyfriend inside a classroom at Sta. Rosa Integrated School. The suspect then turned the gun on himself.
Both were rushed to a private hospital before being transferred to a public hospital in Cabanatuan City. Plans were made to bring the victim to Manila for surgery to remove the bullet lodged in her head, but the procedure could not be carried out as her condition remained unstable.
Authorities are continuing their investigation and are still determining the source of the firearm used by the suspect.
Meanwhile, the suspect, who died on August 8, is set to be buried at 9 a.m. today.
