Fifteen people have been reported dead due to the combined effects of tropical cyclones Luis, Maymay and the enhanced Southwest Monsoon or habagat, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP).
During a press briefing at Camp Crame on Monday, PNP Public Information Office chief Police Colonel Allen Rae Co said the national police force’s regional units recorded the fatalities as of 6 a.m. on August 10.
Two deaths were reported in areas under Police Regional Office 1, with the victims dying from electrocution and drowning.

- A 35-year-old male died due to electrocution in La Union.
- A 54-year-old male died due to drowning in Alaminos, Pangasinan.
Seven fatalities were recorded in the Calabarzon region (Region 4-A), due to rockfall or landslides, drowning, electrocution, and falling trees.
PRO 4A
- A 22-year-old female and a 20-year-old male died due to a rockfall-landslide in Rodriguez, Rizal.
- A 45-year-old male died due to drowning in Batangas City.
- A 28-year-old male died due to electrocution in Batangas.
- A male died due to a landslide in Batangas.
- A male died after being hit by a fallen tree in Antipolo City, Rizal.
- A male died due to drowning in Binangonan, Rizal.
Meanwhile, six people were reported dead in areas under the Police Regional Office-Cordillera, all due to landslides.
PRO COR
- A 66-year-old male and a 31-year-old male died due to landslides in La Trinidad, Benguet.
- Three males and one female died due to landslides in Baguio City.
The PNP also reported 13 people injured and six others missing amid the inclement weather.
More than 3,000 police personnel have been deployed to assist in disaster response and other operations in areas affected by the severe weather.
