A total of 1,400 pregnant dairy cattle imported from Australia have arrived in the Philippines, according to a Wednesday report by RH 5 Val Gonzales.
The importation is part of the Department of Agriculture – National Dairy Authority’s (DA-NDA) program aimed at boosting the local dairy industry to increase dairy production and improve the livelihoods of Filipino farmers.
After three years, the DA-NDA imported dairy cattle again, in order to augment its current animal inventory.

The NDA is set to give out the offspring produced by the Australian dairy cattle to qualified dairy farmers and cooperatives through a stock farm and animal disburser program.
Among the beneficiaries are 176 coconut farmers under the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan, to be implemented in partnership with the Philippine Coconut Authority.
According to a report by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), local milk production rose by 21.2 percent since January 2026 to June.
