The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) announced that 14,266 police personnel will be deployed for the 40th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution and the upcoming Trillion Peso March on February 25, 2026.
In an exclusive interview on DZRH's program, Pinoy Documentaries, NCRPO spokesperson PMAJ Hazel Asilo said the deployment will cover checkpoints, border control points, crowd dispersal management (CDM), arresting officers, negotiating teams, medical units, SWAT, and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams. These measures aim to ensure public safety, smooth traffic flow, and crowd monitoring during the events.
Asilo emphasized that there will be no special security plan for these gatherings, but authorities will apply lessons learned from past rallies, including September 21 and last year’s Trillion Peso March. Police will closely monitor crowds, provide assistance to participants and non-participants, and maintain high visibility in key areas. Social media monitoring will also be conducted to anticipate potential risks.
To maintain order, participation in the Trillion Peso March is limited to 20,000 people. However, authorities are prepared to handle situations if turnout exceeds estimates.
“Naka-ready naman po ang NCRPO at syempre po katulong naman po natin ang QC LGU... para po i-ensure na kung halimbawa man po, mag excess sa 20,000...na kung sakali po na kailangan ng dagdag na police personnel ay meron po maipapahiram sa atin" Asilo explained.
The NCRPO assures the public that the safety of participants, motorists, and residents will remain a top priority during the concurrent events.
