Thirteen Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), along with their dependents, safely returned to the Philippines on Wednesday, April 1, aboard Gulf Air Flight 154 from Israel, landing at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3.
The repatriation operation was provided free of charge, with government agencies ensuring the welfare of the returning workers.
Erlinda Discaya, an OFW caregiver in Israel, expressed gratitude, saying, “Ito po ay libre lahat. Hindi po kami pinabayaan ng Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) at Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).”
The DMW and OWWA, in coordination with the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) and the New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC), continue to strengthen support and assistance programs for returning OFWs, following directives from President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to prioritize their safety and well-being.
This latest repatriation reflects the government’s ongoing commitment to ensuring that all OFWs overseas can return home safely, especially during times of crisis or travel disruptions.
