

At least 13 areas are expected to experience a “danger” level heat index on Monday, May 4, 2026, according to the state weather bureau PAGASA.
Based on PAGASA’s five-day heat index forecast, Dagupan City, Pangasinan is expected to record the highest heat index at 44°C. The city may mark its fourth consecutive day under the “danger” category since Labor Day on May 1.
PAGASA classifies heat index levels between 42°C and 51°C as “danger,” where heat cramps and heat exhaustion are likely, and heat stroke becomes possible with prolonged exposure to high temperatures.
The following areas are forecast to experience “danger” heat index (42°C–44°C):
- Sinait, Ilocos Sur – 43°C
- Laoag City, Ilocos Norte – 43°C
- Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU), Batac – 42°C
- Bacnotan, La Union – 43°C
- Aparri, Cagayan – 42°C
- Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – 42°C
- San Ildefonso, Bulacan – 42°C
- Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU), Camiling – 42°C
- San Jose, Occidental Mindoro – 42°C
- Cuyo, Palawan – 42°C
- Maasin, Southern Leyte – 42°C
- Davao City, Davao del Sur – 42°C
Aside from the danger-level zones, PAGASA also said 61 areas, including two locations in Metro Manila, are expected to reach “extreme caution” levels of 33°C to 41°C heat index.
The agency continues to advise the public to take precautionary measures such as avoiding prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, staying hydrated, wearing light and breathable clothing, and seeking cooler or shaded areas whenever possible to prevent heat-related illnesses.
