A total of 125 operational closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras and around 200 security personnel have been deployed at Manila North Cemetery as preparations continue for the expected influx of visitors during Undas 2026.
Manila North Cemetery Director Daniel Tan said the CCTV cameras have been installed in various areas of the cemetery to help monitor activities and ensure public safety, RH Tina Nolasco reported.
Around 200 cemetery personnel and members of the Manila Police District (MPD) have also been stationed inside the cemetery.
Additional personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) are expected to augment security and crowd management operations as Undas approaches, Tan said.
To ensure smoother pedestrian movement, vehicles and vendors will be prohibited inside the cemetery beginning October 29.
Tan also reminded the public that October 27 is the last day for cleaning, painting and repairing tombs and mausoleums ahead of the observance.
Starting October 28, the bringing of paint, thinner and other cleaning materials will also be prohibited.
Tan said the early restrictions would allow cemetery personnel to collect accumulated garbage and conduct final cleaning operations throughout the grounds before the expected arrival of more visitors.
"Ready na po ang deployment ng ating mga kapulisan, magdedeploy po sila ng mga nasa thousands po na kapulisan," he said.
According to the cemetery's latest data, approximately 97,000 people visited Manila North Cemetery from October 24 to 26, 2026.
