

Ten fatalities were recorded, while over 20 individuals were injured following a multiple-vehicle collision on Thursday, May 1, at the SCTEX Toll Plaza, authorities confirmed.
RH Noche Cacas reported on Thursday that authorities confirmed that 10 people were recorded dead, over 20 individuals were injured, and immediately rushed to the Tarlac Provincial Hospital after the incident's occurrence.
Moreover, five vehicles reportedly collided. The initial investigation found that one Solid North bus was traveling from the south along the expressway when it collided with four other vehicles along the expressway's exit at Barangay Bantog, Tarlac City.
In an earlier update, the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) identified that three SUVs, one container truck, and a Solid North bus collided at around 12:18 PM.
At the time, eight individuals were declared dead by the Tarlac Provincial Hospital, while others were rushed to the said facility.
The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) of Tarlac is carrying out extrication efforts for patients currently pinned inside the vehicles.
Meanwhile, the PRC stated that it had deployed Ambulance 2071 at 12:23 PM. The emergency vehicle is manned by four personnel and is led by Team Leader John Robin Salvatierra.
Authorities have yet to identify the names of the victims, including those responsible for the collision.
