Under the leadership of City Director PCol. Peter Bauzon Madria, in collaboration with barangay and community authorities, the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) arrested a total of 113 suspects last week, according to a Monday report.
Within a week’s time, 43 anti-illegal drug operations were conducted, resulting in the arrest of 50 suspects, reported DZRH’s Jhun Suter.
A total of 301.3925 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, colloquially referred to as “shabu,” valued at over ₱2 million and 605.5 grams of marijuana worth more than ₱72,000 were seized by authorities.
Davao police also carried out 13 operations against illegal gambling, leading to the arrest of 20 individuals and the confiscation of ₱8,120 in gambling money. Thirteen cases were filed against the alleged offenders.
In a campaign against wanted persons, 35 operations led to the incarceration of 35 individuals, including 11 most-wanted persons.
In 16 operations in the campaign against loose firearms, eight suspects were taken into custody.
The arrests are a testament to the Davao police’s ramped-up operations against criminality, while still respecting human rights and adhering to proper police operational procedures.
