Eleven youths allegedly involved in a riot in Samal City, Davao del Norte may face charges, according to a Tuesday report.

The youths may face charges in relation to Alarm and Scandal for disrupting celebrations in Barangay Miranda, Island Garden during the early morning hours of October 18, reported Jhun Suter of Aksyon Radyo Davao.

Samal City Mayor Lemuel “Toto” Reyes summoned the said individuals after chaos erupted at 4:00 a.m.

According to Samal City Police Chief PLtCol. Jerry Abrogina, the local government’s next steps against the youths involved will depend on the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) assessment.

A lawyer for the local government said the youths may face a prison sentence of six months on top of a fine, depending on their charges and whether they are proven guilty.

The mayor ordered the strict enforcement of a curfew for youths, in line with Executive Order No. 0079, s. 2025.

Moreover, the youths’ parents were warned that they may be charged if it is proven that they failed to sufficiently guide and discipline their children.
