Filipina skateboarding prodigy Mazel Paris Alegado has made history by climbing to World No. 31 in the Women’s Park World Skateboard Rankings, marking the highest ranking ever achieved by a Filipino in the discipline.
At just 11 years old, Alegado is not only one of the youngest athletes in the global standings but also the highest-ranked Southeast Asian and the 10th-best in Asia.
Her achievement surpasses the previous Philippine record set by Margielyn Didal, who reached 16th place in the Women’s Street world rankings in 2021.
Alegado’s meteoric rise follows her historic performance at the 2025 Southeast Asian Games in Thailand, where she became the Philippines’ youngest gold medalist.
She dominated the women’s park event on Saturday, December 13, leading a Filipino 1-2 finish with Elizabeth Amador, also 11, taking silver.
Her rapid ascent underscores the Philippines’ growing presence in international skateboarding, as young talents like Alegado continue to put the country on the global map.
