Eleven minors were rescued after having flung themselves into the sea to evade curfew operatives along the coastal road of Barangay Leon Garcia, Agdao in Davao City.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and police officers successfully recovered the children at past 12:40 a.m. on July 5, Sunday, according to RH Jhun Suter.

The children, who were loitering outdoors despite the curfew ordinance in effect, leapt into the waters beyond the road upon noticing approaching barangay officials in an attempt to evade apprehension.

All 11 minors were taken to the Sta. Ana Police Station for documentation.

None of them were reported injured or in violation of any other ordinance or law. They were turned over to the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) and barangay officials for counselling and a parental conference.
