The Office of the Ombudsman is conducting lifestyle checks on at least 107 government officials and employees as part of its ongoing investigation into possible unexplained wealth and misconduct.

Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla said the lifestyle checks are continuing and could expand as investigators uncover more leads.

Remulla made the disclosure during a House Committee on Appropriations briefing after Akbayan party-list Rep. Chel Diokno sought an update on the lifestyle checks earlier ordered by President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr.

The Ombudsman said more government officials and employees could be subjected to the checks as the investigation progresses.
