A hundred Chinese nationals suspected of involvement in a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) scam hub have been deported by the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC), the Bureau of Immigration (BI), and the Chinese embassy.
In a report by RH 15 Jecelle Ricafort, the Chinese were boarded into flight PR336, bound for Shanghai, at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 at 10:40 Tuesday morning.
According to the PAOCC, the deportees were arrested in various operations targeting now-illegal POGOs and fraudsters spanning Lapu-Lapu City in Cebu; Silang, Cavite; Parañaque City and Pasay City.
The operations are part of an intensified campaign to put an end to illegal online gaming and scamming operations in the country, in accordance with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s order to completely ban POGOs and dismantle organized criminal networks.
