A maintenance worker for the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) was killed in a landslide in Sta. Praxedes, Cagayan on Thursday, as a result of unrelenting rainfall brought by the shearline and Northeast Monsoon.

In a report by RH 25 Grace Sansano, four personnel were on the job and failed to notice that a large mound of soil was collapsing. Two were buried under the soil while the rest managed to escape.

The victims were tasked to clear up the area, wherein the soil was beginning to give way.

The DPWH regional office offered its condolences to the family of the deceased.
