A victim was crushed to death in a collision between two trailer trucks along the C-5 Ortigas Flyover in Barangay Ugong, Pasig City according to a Sunday report by RH 5 Val Gonzales.

The trailer truck, carrying crates of bottled soft drinks, reportedly crashed into a second trailer truck that had broken down on the flyover.

Based on a report by Pasig City Police, the driver said an L-truck had overtaken him, so that he had not seen the other truck.

The front portion of the trailer truck that had rammed into the inoperative truck was destroyed, and a victim crushed in the impact.

The incident occurred at around 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, but the victim’s remains were only recovered at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday.

The driver of the truck that carried drink bottles is currently under the custody of the Pasig City Traffic Sector and is charged with reckless imprudence resulting in homicide as well as damage to property.

Due to the incident, the C-5 Ortigas Flyover was temporarily closed until clearing operations were completed at 8:00 in the morning.
