ABS-CBN’s noontime show “It's Showtime” airing on its rival GMA Network's channel? G na G!
On Tuesday, Madlang people were taken by surprise after Good Television (GTV) Channel 11, a free-to-air television owned by GMA Network Inc, dropped a poster of “It's Showtime” hosts with a text that says “G na G!” on its social media platforms.
“G na G na! Abangan iyan!” GTV captioned in the said post.
This was followed by another poster that stated “Madlang people, G na G na ba kayo?”.
“Madlang people, let's make some noise!” the station said in the caption.
In an official statement, ABS-CBN announced that "It's ShowTime" will no longer be aired on TV5 channel starting July, as it will be transferring to its new home, GMA's GTV channel.
The network disclosed that TV5 initially offered a 4:30 PM timeslot for the noontime show due to the new programming movements in the channel, but it respectfully denied the offer.
"For 14 years, "It's Showtime" has brought joy and entertainment to our Madlang People here and abroad. We value the meaningful relationship we have built and nurtured with our audience in the noontime slot. It is for this reason that we have respectfully declined the 4:30 pm timeslot offered by TV5 for the show," ABS-CBN said.
It assured that "It's Showtime" will continue to air on platforms like A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, iWantTFC, and TFC on its original schedule of Monday to Saturday at 12 noon.
"Starting July 1, 2023, "It's Showtime" will also be aired on GTV from Monday to Saturday at 12 noon. G na G tayo, Madlang People!" ABS-CBN said.
The network expressed its gratitude to GMA's GTV channel and to its loyal audiences.
