The Special Action and Intelligence Committee for Transportation (SAICT) intercepted a total of 58 motorists on Friday, January 12, in the EDSA busway stations of Ortigas and Magallanes.

According to the Department of Transportation (DOTr), the 58 violators received traffic violation tickets.

Of the 58 motorists, 36 reportedly disregarded traffic signs, 7 obstructed, and 5 conducted illegal loading outside the terminal station, while 10 of them were unauthorized to use the exclusive EDSA bus lane.

DOTr said that the movement will enable the operation of the vehicles to be safer and more roadworthy for public use in other places, thereby facilitating the transportation of passengers on the EDSA bus carousel.
