President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. has appointed two associate justices of the Court of Appeals (CA) and one associate justice of the Court of Tax Appeal (CTA).

This was announced by the Supreme Court (SC) in a Twitter post on Thursday, Oct. 19.

According to SC, Marcos appointed Wihelmina Jorge-Wagan and Selma Palacio Alaras as CA associate justices last Oct. 11.

Wagan and Alaras were among the 13 shortlisted candidates by the Judicial and Bar Council (JBC). The list was submitted to Marcos last July 8.

Meanwhile, Marcos named Corazon Ferrer-Flores as CTA associate justice. She replaced former CTA associate justice Juanito Castaneda who retired last July.

The appointment papers of the three new justice officials were also posted by the SC.

In a statement on Thursday, the Office of the Press Secretary (OPS) confirmed that the three new appointees had been sworn in office.

The oathtaking was administered by Supreme Court Justice Alexander G. Gesmundo.
