GMMTV announces changes in programming amid CoVid19 pandemic
by Rita Salonga23 May 2021

Thai media network GMMTV released a statement clarifying some changes that the network plans on implementing as their country continues to battle the CoVid19 pandemic.

On Friday, the GMMTV said that because of the ongoing pandemic, some of their operations have been greatly affected and that they have no choice but to make changes on their programming and content production.

Some of the major changes will include delays in filming schedule wherein some of the original cast will no longer be available due to conflict in schedule. Actor Joss Wayar who starred in the recently concluded series "Nabi, My Stepdarling" will be replace by Luke Plowden for the "Drag, I Love You" series.

The release of the music videos for the songs in the "Boys Dont Cry" album, a special project of some GMMTV actors (which include Wayar, Bright Vachirawit, Tay Tawan, among others) will also be postponed because of the delay in the filming schedule, which in turn will affect the production of the album's DVD boxset.

The highly anticipated "2gether: the movie" of one of Thailand's prominent BL couple Bright Vachirawit and Win Metawin has been pushed back because of the strict health protocols currently being imposed in Thailand. The said movie however, will be released in other Asian countries prior to its showing in Thailand. The 2019 "My Precious" movie has been moved to a 2022 release also.

This isn't the first time that GMMTV had to adjust some of its production as they previously announced that "Polca: The Journey", the first-ever fanmeeting of Tay Tawan and New Thitipoom has been postponed again; so does Earth Pirawat and Mix Sahaphap's global fanmeeting scheduled this month, has been moved to June 21, 2021.

The shooting of F4 Thailand (series) has been halted too. In line with the many changes and adjustments, GMMTV said that they will be playing reruns of their past series so that the fans will not be missing their idols so much.
