Korean media outlets, citing insiders in the entertainment industry, have reported that the remaining five members of BTS are preparing to fulfill their mandatory military service obligations by the end of 2023.
As per the reports, the members plan to enlist consecutively once they have completed their ongoing schedules.
"The members are step by step taking the steps for the 'complete' future that they promised to fans. According to officials, BTS will complete their military enlistment, including the youngest line V and Jungkook, by the end of this year after sequentially digesting scheduled schedules such as Suga's world tour and Jungkook's solo activities in the first half of the year," a Korean news outlet reported.
While Suga is currently engaged in a world tour, Jungkook is pursuing solo activities.
Interestingly, V and Jungkook have chosen not to delay their enlistment, even though they have the option to do so based on their age. Instead, they aim to align their discharge dates, enabling them to make a comeback on the stage as a complete group at the earliest opportunity.
Jin, the eldest member of BTS, commenced his military service in 2022, while J-Hope enlisted in April this year, following the group's decision to fulfill their individual duties.
Fans can anticipate a much-awaited reunion of BTS as a full group around 2025, once all the members have successfully completed their military service.
Notably, this month marked the momentous 10th anniversary of BTS, which Seoul celebrated in grand style. An estimated 400,000 fans from around the globe gathered in South Korea's capital.
